Magar is an indigenous nationalities of Nepal. According to Census 2011 Magar have 18,87,733 population. Among them 10,13,317 are female and 8,74,416 are male. 16,54,841 Magars live in Rural and 2,32,892 live in urban. Magar have own mother tongue, culture and life pattern. Magars are slowly going to forget their own mother tongue, according Census 2011 only 7,88,530 magar can speak their own mother tongue (www.cbs.gov.np). Some scholars point outing weakness of Census about concerning indigenous nationalities, however there is no any other accurate data from any organization.
